Sarah TROUCHE (born in 1983) Aral Revival I, 2013 Diptych of color photographs mounted on aluminum Signed, dated, and numbered 1/5 94 x 92 cm (each) The work addresses the theme of ecology through the example of Kazakhstan. The artist traveled to the Aral Sea for a performance denouncing the overexploitation of resources and the resulting ecological consequences. In place of this sea lies a desert of sodium dust. A desolate landscape accentuated by the presence of shipwrecks, on which Sarah Touché waves flags in the wind as a warning. Her nudity is an integral part of her creative process—a vulnerable and authentic act of self-revelation in the service of her art. Voluntary fee of 25% (including tax)
